Over 150 runners are expected to attend the free event in anticipation of the Orlando Magic 5K, 1 Mile & Kids’ Run and Marathon Trials

ORLANDO, Fla. — Track Shack, an Orlando-based specialty running retail store and producer of notable running events, is hosting a group run in partnership with Brooks and Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company ahead of the Marathon Trials and the Orlando Magic 5K, 1 Mile & Kids’ Run. The run will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 31, and start at the Ivanhoe Park Brewing Company. No registration is required for participants to join this free group run with Brooks.

The group run is estimated to attract over 150 runners. After the run, participants will be able to enjoy complimentary beverages and a live DJ.

“Although we have a busy week of events, we wanted to put on a smaller scale run for the running community to enjoy,” said Chris Hughes, director of retail operations at Track Shack. “Runners from around the country will be gathering in Orlando, so you never know who you might run into! This group run provides the opportunity to connect with people with different stories, but the same passion for running.”

Track Shack will also be hosting four other free group runs in the week in collaboration with other running industry brands including:

• rabbit x feetures Wake Up Donut Run on Feb 1, 2024 8 a.m.
• HOKA on Feb. 1 at 6:30 p.m.
• Outta Pocket Track Club sponsored by ASICS and Ciele on Feb. 2 at 8:05 a.m.
• PUMA on Feb. 2 at 6:30 p.m. 

All group runs will start and finish at the Track Shack store and include various post-run festivities. Registration is required for these three group runs and can be completed through the Track Shack website here.

These group runs come just in time to prepare for the upcoming Orlando Magic 5K, 1 Mile & Kids’ Run presented by AdventHealth and produced by Track Shack. The event is part of the celebration of the Orlando Magic's 35th anniversary season and benefits the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation (OMYF). The race starts at 7:30 a.m. at Lake Eola Park, the day after the U.S. Marathon Trials and utilizes parts of the same course. Registration remains open for the event.
